Ferrand Labs
A small site that is quietly measured
There is not much here yet and almost nothing to submit. There is, however, a statistics service running, which is worth saying out loud rather than leaving you to find in a network tab.

The part worth knowing
Jetpack is made by Automattic. On this site it counts visits and which pages are read, sees IP addresses through its brute-force protection, holds the email address of anyone who subscribes through it, can promote posts as paid advertising through Blaze, and syndicates published posts into WordPress.com’s public feed.
That is more than most visitors would assume from a site this quiet. A tracker blocker or a private window will stop most of it, and nothing here is withheld from readers who block us.
What we collect directly
- Whatever you type into the contact form: a name, an email address and a message.
- Ordinary web server records as pages load: IP address, browser, page and time.
That is genuinely the whole list. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no newsletter beyond the Jetpack subscription described above.
Who else can see anything
- Namecheap hosts the site and carries its mail, so it can see everything stored here.
- Automattic runs Jetpack, as set out above, and Akismet, which screens form submissions for spam, so that content and the submitter’s IP go to them for the check.
- Fluent Forms runs the contact form, storing submissions on our own server rather than a vendor cloud.
- hCaptcha, run by Intuition Machines, Inc., checks that a request comes from a person rather than a bot. It is loaded by our login protection on some pages, and it sees your IP address and browser details when it runs.
- Loginizer blocks repeated failed sign-in attempts and logs the addresses that make them. It is what loads hCaptcha.
- Ameen Systems built and maintains the site over a cryptographically signed connection.
No advertising network beyond Automattic’s own Blaze, no data broker, and nothing here is sold. Beyond that list, information leaves only where the law requires it or where someone’s safety genuinely demands it.
Artificial intelligence
- Nothing you send is fed into an AI service, and nothing is used as training material.
- No decision about a person is automated.
- The site was built with AI assisted tooling, and some of the writing on it, including parts of this page, was drafted with AI help and reviewed by a person.
How long, and what you can ask
Form messages are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Backups rotate on a 30 day cycle, so a deletion takes one cycle to become final. Jetpack statistics are held by Automattic on their schedule, not ours.
Write to privacy@ferrandlabs.com to ask what we hold, correct it, or have it removed. We reply within thirty days and there is no charge. This site is not directed to children. When practice changes, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it.
